Watch My Back

"Why does a king wallow in the dirt like a begger at his own gate? Why do you weep for your enemies and scorn those who serve you?"
Nathan - King David

Well today I am thinking about a few things in general, nothing specific. Its like this....what makes people do the things they do? Whether it be good or bad, nice or mean, fun or crazy. I sit around and think sometimes about the person sitting across from me and wonder "what are they really thinking?" or "why are they looking at me like that?". I've always known you could never judge a book by its cover or know whats in the heart of another person. But looking at any situation in my life, I have realized that trusting another person is a huge thing. Something that should not be taken lightly. When you trust someone, you are saying that when things hit the fan, I know that person will have my back.

I look at all my road dawgs, and I say to myself it took years for our friendship to get where it is. I've know them all for at least 5 years and we've all went through some life altering event together. Then I look at the folks I have met recently in life, and naturally my guard is up because I don't really know them or what they are about. There were some people I met where there was a natural wedge in between us.

I guess what I am saying is stay close and enjoy the company of the ones that have been around you the longest, shed a few tears with, been through some life battles together, and told you they loved you (and meant it). To the people you recently met, show them love, no reason to hate or disagree. Learn them, see what they are about, because you never know what may come of it. Build trust. No need for any drama
