"I am an idea!!"
Colen O'day - Romeo Must Die
I went bowling about a week ago and one of my friend's father was there. He's an older guy, Baby Boomer, and could sense he had a lot of knowledge about various things. When my friend introduced her father to me, she made it clear that we should converse. So that set the stage right there. One thing that I was raised to do is respect my elders and soak up all the knowledge they have. So I was attentive when we were talking.
Some things he made clear is the way of the world and blacks in America. One thing he notices is their are tooo many people and organizations trying to lead and refusing to following. And that brings separation in the black community. He said we gotta learn how to (and master) the ability to follow before you can even think to lead. Gotta know when (and who) to submit to before you can think to be an aggressor.
One question that I thought of after I got home is, who do I know to follow behind? or who do I know to submit to? Well now that I think about it, I will say follow those who are selfless and is not about money or into the world.
The Baby Boomer also spoke of his generation acknowledging they dropped the ball in the 70's and 80's. They realize their mistake and they are coming together now and are planning to do some thangs to bring integrity, love, and respect back to the black community. So I personally know, I will be watching and waiting. He also spoke of there will always be a wolf in sheep clothing in every organization. And that instead of fighting it off, acknowledge him, adjust to him, and keep him close.
I have been hearing their will be a big news worthy meeting going down in Atlanta on November 9th where several well known blacks will basically tell the world that we demand equal protection under the law. And there will be a huge movement in DC sometime next year.
