"We need a hero, couragous sacrificing people, setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero, people line up for 'em, cheer for them, scream their names, and years later tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse of the one who told them to HOLD ON a second longer. I believe theres a hero in all of us, that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble. And finally gets us to die with pride. Even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want most, even our dreams."

A couple of weekends ago was my high school ten year reunion. That reunion has been in the middle of my mind ever since graduation. I remember going home after the graduation and sitting on the side of my bed thinking about what the future holds for me....what would become of me....what am I going to do next in life....how is my Air Force career going to go....will I be satisfied with my life achievements by the time the 10yr reunion comes around.
So now that weekend has come and gone. Ten years later, I can say to myself I am ok with my current standing, but I know I could be much further along. Looking at my peers from CT98, I can say I love all of them. They are all driven, motivated, and determined to live life and achieve the best. They unknowningly, collectively, put that mentality inside of me.
We were a unique class to say the least...yesterday and today. Back then, we shook the foundation of Apollo and Battle of the Classes at CT....had a rebellious attitude all 4yrs but at the same time was educated. Our principal then said to us during our Class Officers elections in the 11th grade, "sometimes I wonder the purpose of your existance." In his defense, all 560 of us were loud and rowdy in the auditorium, and I guess all the years of that finally built up and came out. What I think happened next, over the next ten years, is we succeeded in life.
We became nurses, politicians, lawyers, engineers, entrepreneurs, pilots, soldiers, teachers, accountants, bankers, constrution workers, not-for-profit, writers, entertainers, models, ministers, and the list goes on and on.
It was great seeing all of them. I've missed them. And I'm glad we all are succeeding in life. Guarantee that at the next reunion, 15 or 20, CT98 will have elevated their mark on the world to a whole new unknown higher level.
