The Future

"What is this love thing all about?!?! I pay all the bills up in here, and once again I am on the couch."
Martin - Martin (1995)

So I was surfing the net to get the latest on these politicians tryna become our next president. CNN had a pretty good breakdown of who's who and what their stance is on certain issues. Check it out http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/issues/issues.abortion.html

One thing I wish the website did is talk about their plans in detail. Like talk about what they want to do with the economy (housing market, cost of living), job market (bringing overseas jobs back home), insurance companies, global warming (oil, polar ice caps), affirmative action, redesigning the education system, and inequality in the legal system.

Here is what I think about each issue....

With the economy, flat interest rates need to be established. The Federal Reserve needs to stop changing things to what they claim helps balance the supply and demand. There is enough houses and land in this country for everybody where these housing booms and recessions can be avoided.

I understand the global economy, so I'm not opposed to jobs going overseas. But there need to be restrictions on the amount of jobs going over there. Taking care of home needs to be the highest priority.

Insurance companies have to go. I see no benefit in them. We are paying all this money for things that might happen. If nothing happens, we should get 50% of our money spent back. Then when something happens, they have some small print to avoid giving you money or take 6-8 months to get anything back.

Global warming is for real. Politicians are scared to get involved in terms of action because oil is engraved in our economy, and the companies that run the oil are paying these politicians large sums of money. What needs to happen is laws need to be put into place that demand we get off this oil. Then at that point, we need to invest money into the artic to find ways to freeze those polar ice caps and then finding a way to restructure the ozone layer. Also, all these electronic devices we are using is placing large amounts of radiation into the world; which causes cancer and also kills insects and animals. We need to place electromagnetic restrictions on all electronic devices. And plant more trees!!!

Affirmative action is needed.

The education system is outdated and needs to be redesigned. A possible idea is placing demands on the parents. What I mean is making parent/teacher conferences mandatory. Fines and jail time will be enforced if ignored. Get rid of all those aptitude test. Using hands-on activities (real life scenarios) is a better idea. Whoopings in school need to be brought back but under the rule of the deans of the school. After school tutoring is mandatory for any student with a GPA under 2.0 and all extra activities should be suspended until the GPA is above 2.0.

Inequality is wrong. Everybody is equal under the law. All crime punishment need to carry the same from state to state and know no prejudice.

Miscellaneous....$2 toll on all bridges to maintain the U.S. infrastructure....bye bye health insurance companies....hello $20/week for PPO health care, $5 co-pay, and $5 for drugs....mandatory 1 month parenting course for all soon to be parents....mandatory 2yr military service for all; includes armed forces or the peace corps; GI Bill should be mandatory....a 6 month study abroad program should be required for all college students....health and nutrition should be a mandatory class from K through the first year of college.
