"In vino veritas"
Doc Holliday - Tombstone (1993)
I didn't anticipate writing so soon after my last post, but this is something that is fresh on my mind.
I just finished watching Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, and his panel of speakers today was Dr. Cornell West and Mos Def. I've heard from various sources that Mos Def has a lot of knowledge about various things, and it was on display on Real Time. He has a lot of dates and historical figures down packed, but his logic behind his belief system is flawed some. He seems to not be able to understand things that does not have a direct impact on him. Dr. West is a very knowledgable and intelligent person, and because of that, I have very little to say about him except keep doing what you are doing.
One thing I notice sometimes is there are a lot of talkers out there who knows a lot of things, and at times they run off at the mouth for minutes without saying anything. I sit there and think, you did all that talking and have not said one dang thing. Being able to compromise, understand others, reason, doubt, and creativity is where intelligence comes from. Intelligence is not spoken through the mouth, it is heard and has presence. Think about it.
I received a Forward on my work email today, and it was very "spiritual". A little boy prayed and said he wanted to have a conversation with God. So he packed a lunch and went to the park. When he got there, he saw an older woman sitting on the bench feeding birds. So he sat down next to her without saying a word and started eating his lunch. He offered the lady some food and she offered him some root beer. They both smiled at each other, sat there for a few hours, and still did not say one word. It got dark, so the boy and the lady went home. The boy got home and told his mother that he was in God's presence today. The older women went home and told her family that she saw the light of God in a little boy today.
I am apart of everything that is therein.
