Its Yours, Take It

"I...know...the...perfect...victim! I know...the perfect...victim!! I know the perfect victim!!! Bruce Wayne!! hahahahaha!!!"
The Joker - Batman television series

So this past Sunday I was watching Meet The Press. They usually talk about politics on that show, but this episode was different. The guests were Bill Cosby and Harvard Professor Alvin Poussaint. So right then when I heard that, I knew I had to watch that show. They co-authored a book together called, "Come On, People". My understanding is the book is focused on the black community and the roots of its problems (racism, social, financial, and spiritual), and its basically up to us to improve on ourselves because no handouts will be given. The main method they said this can be done is through love and education.

Lets talk about love. Well actually, I talked about love before. So I'm going to talk about education. I actually did not want no part of education beyond high school. In my 11th grade year of high school, I had made up my mind that I was going to join the Air Force and make it to the top that way. Little did I know that 6 months into my Air Force career, I would be enrolling in college, lol. And now I'm working on a PhD being 9yrs removed from high school.

What I discoverd is that through education more windows of opportunity open. More exposure to the ways of the world are learned. More networking opportunities are gained. And the way out from the bottom is obtained through education. Granted there will always be opposition, but nobody can stop anyone from learning. College isn't for everyone, but educating yourself on how to survive in this country is for everyone. There is a serious game being played, and its up to the parents of any child to teach them, be tough on them from the jump, and give them the necessary survival tools.

To be more specific, I will say this...when you get an education, you will learn how the economy is built. You will also get an overview of the legal system and the corporate system. These fundamental tools in the U.S.A. is the foundation to this country. Learning how these things work will give any man, woman, or child the ability to build their own financial kingdom, meet other driven people (successful people always run into each other), and it will also give a person the ability to reach back to educate others.
