"You think you've got what it takes? I've been guarding my gate for a long time b****!"
Fred Krueger - Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
Today's blog entry is dedicated to me! Why you ask? Well its simple. Today is my birthday. Another year has passed, and I've been blessed with a lot of things. So now its time to sit back and reflect, enjoy today, and plan for tomorrow.
Well looking back on my life, I can honestly say I am very thankful and appreciative that God has put a lot of things in my life that has given me this opportunity today. Thinking about the many childhood whoopings I got from my mom, all of the peer pressures I faced in school, being around gang violence, and meeting certain people at certain points in my life. Once I left home after high school, I decided that I would always take a trip around the time of my birthday.
Some of my best trips have been Rome (Italy) and Orlando (Florida). I was actually in Rome by myself but that trip was one of the best ever! One of my boys was suppose to roll with me, but our military supervisor made him work that night out of spite. My best memory from that trip was going into St. Paul's Cathedral. That place is massive! I went to Orlando with one of my ex-girlfriends. My best memory from that trip was at the City Walk. We both were drunk and dancing in the middle of the walk way long after all the clubs closed, lol.
Thinking about today and enjoying the moment. I decided to stay up til midnight to just be one with myself and enjoy now. With no immediate worries or consequence, I'm just being full of tranquility and peace and love right now. Thank God for giving me the understanding and life that he has. I am very grateful and humble for it all.
Looking ahead to the next full year. I'm going to continue to may huge strides. My goals over the next year is to start a business, move, and start taking classes in this PhD program. I'm also eager to stay active in the community. The holiday season is around the corner, so its time have a bigger focus on the children.
I do not know what challenges awaits me over the next year, but I know I will face them with open arms because God is with me.
Good morning....
