I need you, you need me; we're all a part of God's body. Stand with me, agree with me; We're all a part of God's body.
It is His will that every need be supplied; you are important to me, I need you to survive.
I pray for you, you pray for me; I love you, I need you to survive. I won't harm you with word from my mouth; I love you, I need you to survive.
"I Need You to Survive" - Hezekiah Walker
I had decided to go to my mom's church today to see what kind of knowledge I would get out of their sermon. One thing I did understand by the end of the day is all holiday sermons are the same basic sermon talking about the birth of Christ, and if I wanted more substance, I would have to come to a church another week. But anyway, on the way to church, my uncle and I were talking about this tv show that came on the History channel called "books banned from the bible".
That tv show provided a lot of interesting supposed untold stories (Lilly and Adam, the Gospel of Peter, the bloodline of Christ, etc). Some seemed legit and others seemed far fetched. But either way, the one comment by my uncle made me think. He said, "all that knowledge they gave us was good, but not all knowledge has the same weight. Where is the salvation in some of the topics they covered? How is knowing some of these things going to get us closer to God?"
When he said that, I began to immediately, think about various topics and life discussions I have had recently, and wondered, where is the salvation in it? How is knowing this or that going to help me develop the Spirit inside of me. Things that we hold onto, we need to examine them dearly, and ask ourselves is it worthy of discussion? A lot of debates and arguments folks have is not about anything. There is no salvation in it.
Gain full understading of your purpose, be strong in the Spirit, look to no man for answers, and have conversations that will lead you to gaining your salvation. I'm saying this because you are important to me, I need you to survive.
