Flavor of the Month

"I'm the party pooper."
John Kimble - Kindergarten Cop

So as I was driving around town running some errands today, I had my car radio on some sunday preachin'. I wanted to get caught up in what the minister's focus is on these days. Are they preaching? ministering? lecturing? teaching? educating? or just talking? So this was a church out of New York, and they stared out with some songs by the choir, then moved on to introduce the speaker of the day (listed all of his credentials), and then the speaker came on. He jumped right into it....went on to talk about Revelation and the trials and tribulations mentioned in that book, and compared them to today's world. Then he went on and connected it to Rev Wright and the American society.

Now see, lol, here is where I will interject. I have no problem with the choir singing, but everything there after had no substancial value in it that will make anyone a better person in God. I mean Revelation was a vision by a 4th or 5th (at least) generation minister. I have visions all the time, lol, that doesn't mean they happen. But the point of this blog is really, the flavor of the month in todays church is how America is falling and how Rev Wright speaks the truth. I would like to hear some of the ministers speak of life, and teach people how to live it more abundantly in God. A lot of ministers are caught up in the hype to get some attention instead of focusing on what is right.

Educate these people on how to life....minister to them about clearing their debt, participating in community charity events, helping their fellow man, love, and the value of their life. Empower the people to take the battle to the streets and claim back this lost generation from the world. Things that are happening around us in the media is nothing but a distraction from whats important in life. Focus on ministering and educating, and not preaching. Teach people their life has meaning and how to love.
