"How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end its only a passing thing, the shadow, even darkness must pass, a new day WILL come. and when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer, those are the stories that stay with you even if you were too small to understand why."
Sam - Lord of the Rings II
Another day, another dolla. I meant to write in this joint yesterday, but I ended up going to Dave and Busters with a friend of mine. And when I got home last night, I had too much under the influence to even consider to write in the blog. But I'm cool now, lol. I'm on my lunch break eating some veggie chili (no meat). Good stuff, you all should try it.
Before I go any further, I want to give a shout out to the GGG3 folks (http://thecaliinvasion.com/) going to Cali this week. You all be safe, have crazy fun, and all that other good stuff :-) I'll catch you all on the next trip!
But yeah, in my last post I said I would talk about cancer. So I'm gonna cover it some :-) What is cancer exactly??? Well my research and understanding tells me it is a sickness of the body that occurs over time. The more shyt we put in our bodies, the more stress we are under, or the more unhealthy lifestyle we live, the weaker our bodies get. Then at some point, one part of our body is not performing at its capacity, that's when cancer says "ok, lets go here and speed up the cell regeneration process." Then after some time a tumor forms. Once it is in the body, you can either go the FDA route, or you can go the holistic route. That decision is up to the individual. But keep in mind these preventive measures spoken by the American Cancer Society: http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/content/PED_3_1x_Link_Between_Lifestyle_and_CancerMarch03.asp
Vegetables and fruits: You need to eat at least 5 servings of vegetables (including legumes) and fruits each day, especially those with the most color (a sign of high nutrient content). These foods are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and many other substances that work together to lower risk of several cancers, including cancers of the lung, mouth, esophagus, stomach, and colon. Not only that, if prepared properly, vegetables and fruits are usually low in calories, so eating them in place of higher-calorie foods can help you control your weight.
Whole grains: Aim for at least 3 servings of whole grains each day. There are easy ways to add whole grains to your diet -- eat oatmeal at breakfast, choose whole-wheat bread or wraps for your lunchtime sandwich, whip up brown rice at dinner instead of white.
Processed and red meats: Cutting back on processed meats like hot dogs, bologna, and luncheon meat, and red meats like beef, pork and lamb may help reduce the risk of colon and prostate cancers. These foods are also high in saturated fat, so eating less of them and eating them less often will also help you lower your risk of heart disease.
